Vermont North East Kingdom

Never fished in Northern Vt. Looking for general information as to names of rivers and streams there for fly fishing. Also any good lodging.
Thanks

I was up that way with my wife last summer, fished the Winooski st a few random spots between Montpelier and Waterbury. It was low (remember last summer?) managed to find a few fish. Some of the tribs - Mad, Dog - are supposed to be good. Lou Z's book says the Clyde for LLS.

I don't know how far "North" you are considering, but I would recommend the Clyde, Missisiquoi, and Green Rivers. All can be very productive, but I have not been up to VT this year so I don't know about flows

Missiquio (?) has always had some intrigue for me, I think that is the one with the steelhead run. . The Dog near Montpelier gave up some small wild fish once for me.

I personally think it is really funny how little boarder crossing happens to the west, with the likes of the battenkill and such. These are FAMOUS rivers, but I know very few people who venture west as opposed to the hoards that go east and north.

Try the Lamoille river around the Hardwick area. It;s not that far from St. J.
