johnl is right but I would add a DeLorme Gazetteer and a sense of adventure. We all appreciate a word of advice now and then but the most rewarding fisheries are the ones you learn yourself.

If you're tying dries also use the feathers from the rounded outside edge of the cape. The ones that are kind of short but have long stiff fibers. These are called spade hackle.
