I bought Korkers for boots this year. I liked the fact that I could change out the soles. $149 for the boots and the basic rubber sole plus a felt sole. When I got them they had a rebate for another set of soles, your choice. I got the rubber with aluminum bars ($59 value) for nothing. Have used them a bunch the last 2 months. Like them a lot.

I have a pair of Simms boots. Very comfortable and with superb ankle support.

Default Boots, etc.

I'd go with Simms boots.
I also have a pair of Korkers that I have no complaints about as long as I use the felt soles. The rubber soles are worthless, dangerous even, in my opinion.

About LLBean waders - the warranty is nice, but I've never gotten even a whole season out of a pair. They leak either around the bootie or along the inside seam.

I've had excellent luck with the Redington Sonic Seal waders. Three years now with no leaks, not even pinholes.

I bought a pair of LLBean Kennebec waders and was initially impressed with the fit, comfort, and price. HOWEVER on my first trip using them for 2 weeks on the Magalloway the waders began to leak... LLBean replaced them and GUESS WHAT?! That pair leaked as well. 3rd time was a charm and I have few complaints with the current pair.

I also have a pair of Simms G3 Guide Pants that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I have also owned Orvis, Caddis, & Hodgman waders.

Overall I have found that wader performance and price go hand-in-hand. The more money you spend the better performance and longevity you get. I have had the best luck with Simms...

Default Here's What I Bought

Thank you all for your advice. I bought a pair of Kennebec waders from LL Bean. I used them a lot over the summer, I did go back to Bean's for a replacement pair, not because they leaked but because one of the clasps for the shoulder straps broke. I've used them a couple of times this winter too, still no leaks.(knock on wood). For boots I bought a pair of Korkers and love them. I do have the felt soles on them , I have the lug boot soles also but don't see any reason to change to them over the felt soles.
Again, thank you for all of the advice, it was a big help.
