Cool What a week...

... to be stuck at work!

Just typical of the weather we've had this year.

June- Rain & Wind, July-Rain, August- Rain then a heat wave. Now with most of everyone's vacation time gone we get cool nights and partly cloudy 70* days for a week!

You can just feel autumn in the air.

Fortunately I've got a few more days on the water ahead of me yet, although I'd be afraid to say which days as the rain gods would most likely be listening...

I think finally I am going to luck out and have good weather in Pittsburg this week end. Hope isn't crowded.

Last night at about 9:30 PM I had a fish take my fly and I mean take it! I don't know what the heck I was thinking but the fish about 17 inches yanked and so did I! I left the fly in its mouth and it jumped several times around the pool! I did catch two dumb fish to make me feel better one at 10PM and one early. Not much happening but my buddy hit the pool the night before and hooked 13 fish. I should never have showed him the place but he now tells me he took me there! At this point it has been years so who knows!

Kype,

Welcome to the 50 club, where forgotten memories lie! Glad to hear you had some action. Sounds like you have a nice little spot that is (pretty much) all of your own. Shhh, never tell anyone those spots! Secrets are like diarhea and have a way of getting out...

I'll be there Sat & Sun with several "spots" in mind. Reliable sources have told me the fish are back on the bite with the cooler evenings and lowering water temps.

One of these spots has held some pigs in the past however due to the crappy weather this year and high flows this will be my first time back there...

I'll let you know how it goes. Regardless this is my favorite time of year to be on the water and if the weather holds up should be a beauty of a weekend..
