Default Camping in Pittsburgh, NH

Hi Everyone,

So I am trying to plan a trip to Pittsburgh in June 2010. And everyone voted that camping in tents would be the best (ugh). So I am looking for a camping ground with showers etc... that is walking distance of some good fly fishing.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,

Erik Witkop

Not sure about the shower situation but the State Park on Francis Lake is your best bet for tents and walking to fly fishing if you ask me.

Erik,
I stayed at Mountain View Campgrounds ( $18 a night) compared to $25 a night at the F&G campground. Mountain View has nice bathrooms and showers right next to the sites. Check it out.

Personally, I do not bother showering during the early season....Black flies love the scents of any shampoo.

I limit my showers to Easter and Labor Day. It really doesn't do much in regards to the bugs but sure gets me lots of fishing space on the river banks.

Default If you don't have to walk

As in have a car..I suggest Spruce Cone Cabins. They are about 3 miles from first Lake Dam, have motel rooms with decent fully furnished kitchens, bath/shower, old but clean beds & linens, SATELLITE TV for $38 per night!
