Looks like we have interest in making the Pemi our first project river. Looks like the first steps are contacting folks in TU.
1) GBTU to get some guidance on the process of a project like this. I will attend the next meeting and see what I can find out. Meeting are the 1st Monday of each month per there web site. Anyone wants to join me they are more than welcome (Monday, October 1) any one know the time.
“GBTU
Meets First Monday of each Month
Urban Forestry Center:
From the Portsmouth Traffic circle, go south on Route 1 to the intersection of Elwyn Road (adjacent to Yokens Restaurant). Head east on Elwyn Road approximately 1/4 mile, entrance is on the left. “
2) PEMI TU, I don't have a address or meeting schedule on these guys. But we need to get someone to a meeting to see if they would be interested in a project like this. TSmith is a member maybe you can head up the charge?
3) FFNH, Our Role, I think we should present ourselves as a bunch of NH anglers looking to improve the local quality of fishing. We can offer volunteers for project and fundraising. We do not won't to be perceived as a New kid on the block looking to Step on toes and take away from the already limited resources we have in this State. Partnering with a group like TU on this project is needed to insure its sucess. GBTU has a model for this activity we should not try to recreate the wheel (unless it is broken of course).
