I hijacked this from the GBTU site:

"The Great Bay Chapter has spearheaded a proposal that has been presented to NH F&G at the bi-annual public hearing.

This proposal states as follows: "The the season for "taking" trout and salmon in all NH waters be extended in the fall to ice-in conditions in all waters of the state except for those in the designated wild brookie program. This extended season will be for fly fishing and artificial lure only and will be limited to catch and release"

I Support this and have emailed F&G, Water closure should be based on a Rick based Approach based on Science and not a sweeping closure. The extended season would boost the economy and license sales as many out of state Leaf Peepers might sneak some fishing in while visiting.

care to post the email so we can use it as a cut and paste sort of thing? If people are interested i can automate this so F&G can get a feeling for the support....

Mine is a little goofy, so you may want to adjust.

" Hello;

I am writting in support of the recent GBTU proposal regarding Trout and Salmon Seasons.

"taking" trout and salmon in all NH waters be extended in the fall to ice-in conditions in all waters of the state except for those in the designated wild brookie program. This extended season will be for fly fishing and artificial lure only and will be limited to catch and release"

In my opinion, Water closure should be based on a Rick Based Approach based on Science and not a sweeping closure. The extended season would boost the economy and license sales as many out of state Leaf Peepers might sneak some fishing in while visiting.

Thanks
Mike

Good Job Guys,

These are the types of silent efforts that we need to hear more about. This is a good common sense managment goal that the entire state can wrap there hands around.

Personally, I think this is the type of effort that can pay big dividends when it comes to supporting and enhancing the 'wild brook trout' program. If anglers beleive in what is being done, who wouldn't kick in a few bucks to help it grow.

I've sent along my support. This is a great idea. Good job of putting this out there for us. Grass roots support can only help!
