Selling a new Cortland 444SL Saltwater Big Game Taper WF9F. In the original box. The box is a bit wrinkled but the line has never been used. Price on the box is $45, selling for $30 plus postage if needed.

does a saltwater line sink? I really don't know anything about it but i have a 9 wt that I need a line for...looking for something intended for stripers...would this work?

It's a weight forward floating line. Depends on the conditions you fish in. I'm not a big striper guy, better to ask the striper dudes on this board as to how much you can expect to use it.

In my experience that would be a great line for an 8wt steelhead rod, or for saltwater fishing down south where a floating line is more appropriate.

I use a sink tip line for stripers.

I have a striper reel rigged up with the same line as he is selling, only in 8wt not 9. Honestly, I don't use it often but I wouldn't consider NOT having a floating line for stripers since I occassionally find them feeding on top and nothing is more exciting than having them blow up on your popper or gurgler.

But definitely, this is my #2 rig, with a Teeny sink-tip being my go-to setup.

If you are wade fishing and fishing around shallow areas as I do, then a floating line is what I use most of the time; unlike Steve H whose go to is a sink tip. For $25.00 can't go wrong.
