I have never fished for salmon but thought I might try the Coolidge Woods Road area in Bristol. Are there better area to try? Any idea around when it gets stocked? Any suggestions on which flies to try?
Thank you for any suggestions. Walt

Coolidge Woods road is a good area for salmon. Try flies with white in them - black ghost, white maribou muddler, etc. Best bet is in October, they usually stock by around 10/10. Watch the fish and game website for stocking announcement.

That is as good of a place as any, but if you're there you'll also want to try up by Ayers Island Dam.
With that said, I have had better luck at the Dam in Franklin.

Gotta wait for f+g to put them in before you're likely to catch one. There is always a chance for a holdover though, especially given the summer that we've had.
