First Stripers ?

I have heard rumors of some large fresh fish being caught in the great bay rivers in April? That they follow the Herring in. If they are big fish around I would guess they where holdovers, but anything is possible. Guys have been catching legal bass in the Charles River all winter.

When do you start catching, My Earliest for local fish was May Boston Harbor, Latest was first week in November.

Well I've heard of them being taken in Southern Maine before in April but it was an extremely odd year, much like the one we're now in. I know for sure there's some migratory ones in R.I. right now, probably even Mass. too. I personaly won't start fishing the NH area too soon... unless I here a few reliable reports of catches... which just may happen very soon. :wink:
