I won't be attempting the upper mack for awhile now but the sound side might be a good place to go to get away from the affects of this rain!

I am looking for some spots to launch my drift boat , I only need to get close to the water, also don't need an incline. Draws around 3" of water .Has allot for freeboard so can take a pretty good wake and a High thrust 10Hp Kicker to beat the nasty current. Looking to get to the Lawerence Dam and Behind Plum Island (Plum Island River/Sound Area)

I was looking to confirm where the ramps are at the following locations:
I will post reviews of each ramp in the Ramp forum after I check them out.

1) Lawrence, MA. Rte 495 to exit 41B, Rte 28 north for 1.75 miles to bridge over Merrimack. Cross RR tracks, then before traffic lights take right between factory buildings. River access is behind Pacific Paper Products building.

2) Bradford Ma next to the Crescent Yaht Club.on Ferry St. (Read in an old Eagle tribune article it was a State ramp and did not require residency.)

3) Water Street / Plum Island Turnpike Newbury Port, Ramp Under a Bridge for small boats?

Thanks
Mike

I just heard the Newburyport area of the Mack is in bad shape with some nasty currents & busted docks.

The only spot you list I can guess on is under the bridge. I know of kayaks being launched there around high tide after a short carry. When the tide drops, the sides of the grass are basically straight down, some of them looked undercut the one time I looked (I could be wrong).

There is an old ramp on Water St (Joppa Flats), parking is somewhat limited. I've heard anything lower than half tide leaves a long muddy walk to the ramp.

I think #3 would be a good choice. I see kyaker's there a lot.
There is a public boat launch on Merrimack St near Rt 1 it also has parking.
