Well it was a nasty one!

Jordy met me at my house at 3:30AM , I was up at 1AM tying a few last minute clausers

Decided to launch at the Winthrop ramp instead of the beach I usually use. As every time I try to use this ramp I got lost. East Boston is really lovely at that hour, driving the small streets with boat in tow helps hone the traillering skills. This is a fun exercise in the morning, but much more exciting in the afternoon coming home. In the afternoon you have the human element involved, and the bonus feature of strategically double parked cars to navigate.

If this is the best that can be done for a Decent Ramp in Boston, then the Terrorists have won! I miss the Gas Tank Ramp!

So we had a little later start than planed but it was still early, real windy and cold so no issue there. We were of course the only ones there.

Must have been the Rainy Cold Windy Forecast, With a Chance of it being Really Windy, Really Rainy and Really Cold! That kept smart folks warm and dry.

Luckily we had all those Fish to keep us warm!

Other than the first 1hr we were on fish all day . The first Hour was grim a cold Haba cruise , I even took Jordy to my Super Top Secret Harbor Slack Tide UDL, And Nada

But once the water moved a bit we were on fish all day and left after about 8Hr of fishing with fish busting around us. Same unidentified small bait they were on Thursday Night. Thought I saw some Macks feeding in the Mix as well.

Fish were not as picky as Thursday night, and we caught way to many fish to either bother counting. It was tough to not catch fish. Jordy actually landed a fish hand ling while trying to clear a tangle. If your fly was in the water it was toast!

It was good to put someone on fish and see them get there first
" Wicked Pissa Haba Stripa Thum"

No Biggies today, we tried going Deep , Big Flies Little flies No Dice . Biggest fish was probably 20" at best. Just hundred’s of Bass all day all around the boat.
I had some Big Fish marked on the Fish Finder So I tried Dredging with the 600GR and Big Clausers, Just more Twinks

Jordy wanted Diner So; I did what any Good Captain Would Do
I stepped to the dark side and grabbed a spin rod for awhile and did some vertical jigging with a 2Oz Crippled herring, More Twinks! Tried a 9"Sluggo on top and it was beat up but these little guys couldn’t scarf it down. I then went to a 3/4Oz Jig Head with a Fin’s. And Bang! Slow Heavy Head shakes. I Tell Jordy better get the Net! Thing was Heavy!
What a Surprise When it showed Color

That was the first for me! Nothing quite as impressive as a tackle busting foul hooked skate!

We had a great day despite the rain, cold and wind. I am still cold and plan on lighting up the woodstove when this is done, Having to light a wood stove in June is just wrong!(Unless you have some Ladies around And Barry White A Playing)

Would have liked to grab some lunch with you guys but the logistics were too much.
Hope All Had A Great/ Safe Time

Mike

Mike Skate wings don't make for a bad dinner. Good day of fish though.

Shoulders feel like I carried Oprah up the Statue of Liberty...left hand feels like I punched a wall and my thumbs are broken and bleeding from taking out hooks....bBst of all, I am still smiling from the EPIC day Mike and I had as we pounded stripers all over Boston Harbor.

The weather was beautiful...sunny and warm, about 75 degrees. :-)
At least that is what the delusional state from striper mania had me believing. It was a day to remember!
