Things are heating up the past couple weeks after the flood. I was afraid that the flood might have changed the water quality such that the bait pattern might change for this early season but things are sorting out. I've probably been out 12 times in the last 14 days (a couple doubles make up for days off) including the balmy 3rd. Right now things are more tide dependant than light dependant. There has been good fishing so long as the water was moving hard, regardless of the light levels.(June 3rd not withstanding) That will change as the summer progresses and we'll need the combination of low light and tides to get the nicer fish active. This morning was a perfect example. If you found moving water, you found aggressive fish. Since the tide started running hard well after first light, I abandoned intermediate lines to fish deeper and was rewarded with some decent fish to about 12#, 31". Get out there soon and if you are headed my way drop me a line. Maybe I can share some intel.....of course it also might cost you some upcountry info in return!
