Default Dry fly season

Just wondering what everyone's experience with dry flies on the small stream wild trout are. How far into the fall do they regularly hit dries?

Depends on the water temp of said stream. Some cool down faster than others and it's almost just like someone flipped a switch. If they stay warm enough you can enjoy reliable surface action right through till the end of the season.
