As for flies your generic, basic trout flies will work fine. By the end of April stocking is pretty much in full swing and at that time those fish won't be too picky.

It seems that a lot of people who fish either hunt or just don't fish in the fall. Fall is a great time to fish general law ponds for trout....

I think that it is always a good gesture to buy something. Doesn't have to be a Scott or Winston fly rod with a Hatch reel but just something. Maybe a few flies or a hat or shirt with their name on...

The teton reels are awesome for the price. I own quite a few. I've used them on bass, trout, pike and even bonefish in Mexico.

New Hampshire used to stock them but they stopped quite a few years ago. As far as I know Massachusetts is the only state in New England that stocks them on a large scale.
